How to use “Crop Image”
- Add the image or images you want to crop.
- Choose an “Aspect ratio” or leave it on “Free”.
- Drag the frame or its corners (with the keyboard: arrows to move, Shift to go faster).
- Click “Crop image” and download what is inside the frame.
Pixel-accurate cropping
The frame is drawn on a scaled-down view, but the crop is applied to the original image at full resolution: the position and size values you see are real pixels. With a fixed aspect ratio, the frame keeps it while you drag the corners. Everything outside is discarded and the result keeps the original format (GIF, BMP and AVIF become PNG).
Are my files uploaded?
No. ShiftAny Images processes your images directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make a square photo?
Choose 1:1, move the frame until the subject is centered and crop. If you also need an exact size (say 400 × 400), run it through “Resize Image” afterwards.
Can I crop several images at once?
Yes: add several and pick each one in the list to adjust its frame; the aspect ratio you choose applies to all of them. If you just need them all at the same size without framing by hand, use “Resize Image”.
Does cropping reduce quality?
The pixels inside the frame are left untouched. JPG and WebP are re-encoded at quality 92 by default (you can change it), an invisible loss; PNG loses nothing.
What if the crop is for my profile picture?
Use “Profile Picture and Avatar”: besides the square, it shows the circle WhatsApp, Instagram or Discord cut it to, so your face is not clipped.
