How to use “Resize Image”
- Add the images you want to scale, one by one or as a batch.
- Under “Resize by”, choose “Pixels” or “Percentage”.
- Type the width or the height: with the lock closed, the other side is worked out for you.
- Click “Resize” and download the result or everything in a ZIP.
Pixels, percentage and aspect ratio
By percentage, every image is scaled by the same factor (50 % = half the width and half the height). In pixels with the aspect ratio locked, width and height act as a bounding box: each image is fitted inside without distortion, so a batch mixing landscape and portrait photos comes out consistent. If you unlock the ratio, every image comes out at exactly the size entered, even if it gets stretched. When shrinking a lot, the image is scaled in steps to avoid jagged edges; enlarging adds pixels, not detail.
Are my files uploaded?
No. ShiftAny Images processes your images directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.
Frequently asked questions
Can I enlarge a small image?
Yes, but enlarging does not create detail: the image will look softer. For the web, start from the largest original you have.
What size should I use for the web or social media?
1920 px wide is common for full-screen photos; 1200 px for articles and 1080 × 1080 for square Instagram posts.
Does it keep the format?
By default, yes (JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG). GIF, BMP and AVIF are saved as PNG. You can also choose another output format.
