Prepare your photos for an Instagram post

Fit your photos to the Instagram feed in portrait 4:5 (1080 × 1350 px), which takes up more of the screen, or square 1:1 (1080 × 1080 px).

ShiftAny servers: none
  • Your files travel straight between Google and your browser. They never touch a server of ours, because we don’t have any.
  • Processing runs on your device, exactly as it does with a file from your computer.
  • The app can only access the files you pick and the ones it saves to your Drive. Never the rest.
  • Access expires after one hour and is never stored. This browser only remembers your name and email so you can reconnect in one click; you can disconnect at any time.

How to use “Instagram Post”

  1. Add the photos for your post or carousel.
  2. Choose the “Format”: portrait 4:5 or square 1:1.
  3. Choose the framing: blurred background (nothing cropped) or fill and crop.
  4. Click “Create image” and download your posts.

Portrait 4:5 or square 1:1

The portrait 4:5 format (1080 × 1350 px) takes up the most room in the mobile feed and stays on screen longest while scrolling; the square 1:1 (1080 × 1080 px) is the classic and keeps the grid uniform. With “Blurred background”, a landscape photo fits whole, without Instagram cutting it. Keep in mind that on your profile grid Instagram shows a centered vertical crop of each post: keep the important part in the middle.

Are my files uploaded?

No. ShiftAny Images processes your images directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.

Frequently asked questions

Which format gets more reach?

Portrait 4:5 fills more of the screen height in the feed, so it stays visible longer while people scroll. Square looks tidier on your profile grid.

How do I post a landscape photo without Instagram cutting it?

Use “Blurred background”: the photo fits whole and the space above and below is filled with the same image, softened. If you would rather fill the frame, use “Fill and crop” and drag the preview to choose what stays.

Can I prepare a carousel?

Yes: add all the photos at once and they are fitted with the same format and framing. Instagram requires every image in a carousel to share the same aspect ratio.
