How to use “Add Border or Frame”
- Add the photos you want to frame.
- Choose the “Frame color” and its “Thickness” in pixels.
- For the Polaroid look, turn on “Wider bottom”.
- Click “Add border” and download the result.
The frame enlarges the canvas, it does not cover the photo
The border is added on the outside: a 1080 × 1080 photo with a 40 px frame becomes 1160 × 1160, and the image is copied pixel for pixel, with no rescaling or loss of sharpness. With “Wider bottom”, the lower side is 3.5 times the others, like an instant photo. Thickness is in pixels: in a batch of photos of very different sizes, the frame will look proportionally thinner on the large ones.
Are my files uploaded?
No. ShiftAny Images processes your images directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.
Frequently asked questions
How thick should the frame be?
For social media, 3 to 5 % of the photo’s width (30–50 px on a 1080 px photo). For printing, a wider frame gives the image room to breathe.
Does the image size change?
Yes: the canvas grows by twice the thickness in each direction (plus the extra bottom in Polaroid style). If you need an exact final size, run it through “Resize Image” afterwards.
Is a PNG’s transparency kept?
The frame is a solid color, but transparent areas of the photo are kept if you save as PNG or WebP. In JPG they are filled with white.
