ShiftAny servers: none
  • Your files travel straight between Google and your browser. They never touch a server of ours, because we don’t have any.
  • Processing runs on your device, exactly as it does with a file from your computer.
  • The app can only access the files you pick and the ones it saves to your Drive. Never the rest.
  • Access expires after one hour and is never stored. This browser only remembers your name and email so you can reconnect in one click; you can disconnect at any time.

How to use “Image Color Picker”

  1. Add an image (a screenshot works too).
  2. Move the pointer over it: the loupe shows the exact pixel and its color.
  3. Click to save the color to your list (or use the arrow keys and Enter).
  4. Copy the HEX, RGB or HSL code with one click.

Exact color, pixel by pixel

The eyedropper reads the color of the original pixel, not of the scaled-down view on screen, so the code matches your file. The dominant palette groups similar colors across the whole image (median cut) and shows the six most common, from most to least present. In images with transparency, the pixel’s opacity is shown too. Keep in mind that the color you see on screen also depends on your monitor’s color profile.

Are my files uploaded?

No. ShiftAny Images processes your images directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between HEX, RGB and HSL?

They are three ways of writing the same color. HEX (#C58C36) is the most used in web design; RGB gives red, green and blue from 0 to 255; HSL describes hue, saturation and lightness, handy for creating variations.

Can I grab a color from a website or another app?

Take a screenshot and load it here. That way you get the exact color as it is shown on your screen.

Is my color list saved?

Only while the page stays open. Nothing is sent anywhere; copy the codes before you close it.

How is this different from “Color Palette Generator”?

Here you pick the exact pixel whose code you need with the eyedropper. “Color Palette Generator” sums up the whole image in 5 to 8 colors and exports them as CSS, SCSS, Tailwind or JSON variables.
