How to use “Social Media Banner”
- Add the image you want to use as a cover or banner.
- Pick the network: Facebook, LinkedIn, X or YouTube.
- Turn on the guide to see the safe zone and what the profile photo covers, and move the image until the important part is visible.
- Click “Create image” and upload it to your profile or channel.
Every network crops the cover its own way
The canvases are the usual ones for each network: 1640 × 624 px for a Facebook cover (about twice the size it takes up on a computer, so it looks sharp), 1584 × 396 px for a LinkedIn banner, 1500 × 500 px for an X header and 2560 × 1440 px for a YouTube banner. None of them shows the whole image on every device: YouTube only guarantees the central 1546 × 423 px strip, Facebook crops the sides on phones, and on LinkedIn and X the profile photo covers the bottom-left corner. The preview guide marks those areas approximately so text and faces stay clear; it does not appear in the downloaded file.
Are my files uploaded?
No. ShiftAny Images processes your images directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.
Frequently asked questions
What size is a Facebook cover photo?
Facebook shows it at about 820 × 312 px on a computer and crops the sides on phones. That is why it is prepared at 1640 × 624 px, twice the size, with the text in the middle: the guide marks the strip visible on both.
Why is part of my LinkedIn or X banner hidden?
Because the profile photo overlaps the bottom-left corner. The guide marks that area approximately (it shifts a little with the screen): keep only background there and place text or your logo toward the right.
Which part of a YouTube banner shows on every device?
Only the central 1546 × 423 px rectangle: TVs show the full 2560 × 1440 image, but computers and phones crop the top, bottom and sides. Keep the channel name and logo inside the safe zone.
How is this different from “YouTube Thumbnail”?
The thumbnail is the cover of each video (1280 × 720, 16:9) and is uploaded in YouTube Studio when you publish it. The banner is your channel’s header image, much wider, and is changed in the channel customization settings.
