ShiftAny servers: none
  • Your files travel straight between Google and your browser. They never touch a server of ours, because we don’t have any.
  • Processing runs on your device, exactly as it does with a file from your computer.
  • The app can only access the files you pick and the ones it saves to your Drive. Never the rest.
  • Access expires after one hour and is never stored. This browser only remembers your name and email so you can reconnect in one click; you can disconnect at any time.

How to use “WebP to JPG/PNG”

  1. Add one or more WebP files.
  2. Choose JPG (lighter) or PNG (lossless and with transparency).
  3. Click “Convert to JPG” or “Convert to PNG”.
  4. Download each image or all of them in a ZIP.

JPG or PNG?

JPG is the choice for photos: it is light and opens in any app, but it has no transparency (transparent areas are filled with the background color you pick, white by default). PNG keeps transparency and loses no quality, at the cost of a larger file: it is the right choice for logos, screenshots and illustrations. Animated WebP files are converted from their first frame.

Are my files uploaded?

No. ShiftAny Images processes your images directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the PNG larger than the WebP?

PNG stores the image losslessly while WebP compresses much harder. If size matters and there is no transparency, choose JPG.

What happens to transparency if I choose JPG?

JPG does not support it: it is filled with the chosen background color. To keep it, choose PNG.

Are animated WebP files converted?

Only their first frame: the result is a still JPG or PNG image. Neither format stores animation.
